Your Spoken Words Are Empowered

➤ by Pastor Andy Fulson

God accomplished creation through the power of His spoken word: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said…, Genesis 1:1-3.

Likewise with us - our words are empowered, whether to build up or tear down. It is written: For of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh, Luke 6:45.

And again: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee, Psalm 91:5-7.

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, Matthew 12:34

Being fully assured that God does not contradict Himself (Jer 1:12) , we remain faithful to His instructions.

This faith confidence comes through the 'renewing of your mind' (Rom 12:2) and operates through the 'power assigned to us' (Rom 10:17) to withstand Satan’s attacks successfully.

Jesus taught that all affliction originates from Satan - the author of all evil (Jn 8:44-45) - manifesting pain, infection, exaggeration, slander, deception, lies, and more.

Jesus further commanded - tolerate no temptation from the enemy. Be bold and confident in your declaration - command him to flee: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith, Mark 11:23.

Disregarding God’s will is submitting to the slander of Satan’s lies - just as Eve did with Satan (Gen 3:1). Defeat such temptations with firm resolve - exposing Satan as powerless. How?

Speak as Jesus spoke. Command as He commanded.

It takes time to establish change through the renewing of your mind (Rom 12:2), becoming your effective defense against every temptation from Satan.

Avoid any form of neglect that would weaken you through ignorance of Scripture. Hold fast to God’s unchanging Word.

Break down every satanic oppression by remaining faithful to the Holy Ghost’s work of restoration (Act 1:8; 2:17-21).

Closing Thought

God’s words are encouraging, edifying, strengthening, and resilient against all that which tries to oppose Him.

Be confident in your conviction: lay hold of Jesus Christ for your reconciliation through your words - from the heart (Rom 10:9–11). From that moment on, you belong to Him - forever (Jn 14:2–3).

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20
